Dr. Fares Djafri

He is currently a Researcher at the International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prior to joining ISRA, he was the Executive Director of the International Bureau for Consultancy at the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. He also worked as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Shariah and Management, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya.

Dr. Fares holds a Ph.D in Islamic Finance from University of Malaya, Malaysia; Master’s in Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM); BSc in Finance from University of Batna, Algeria. He is a member of the Editorial Board of ISRA International Journal of Islamic Finance (Arabic). Dr Fares has published many chapters in books and several articles in peer reviewed and high impact journals. He has also presented several papers in local and international conferences. Some of his most significant publications are: Pricing of Family Takaful Products (2019) and The Measurement Model of Performance Determinants: A Case Study of Islamic Insurance (Takaful) in Malaysia (2018).
